English Speaking Union : Public Speaking Competition 2002

To promote international understanding through the English language, the English Speaking Union, Morocco's founding members organized a public speaking competition on Saturday the 20th of April 2002. this event was held at Rabat American School. The participants are students coming from various Moroccan universities. The topic of the competition was " Ecology and Economy."

After the opening of the competition, candidates delivered their speeches one by one. The main subjects discussed were on: Pollution In Morocco, "Can We Say To Hell To Ecology", Global Warming, Organic Farming, Ocean pollution.

At the end, there was the nomination of the two winners and certificate award. The first prize went to Mr.Mehdi Azeriah, student from Abd Almalik University in Tetouan, for his presentation on: Can We Say Go To Hell To Ecology." The second prize went to Miss Assmaa Nafar, a student from Al Akhawayn. University in Ifrane, fro her subject: Organic Farming.

The two winners will have the opportunity to participate in the International Speaking Competition May 2002, and will be invited to spend some time with British families in London.
